SENSE1 Sensor Kit
An OQS Sensor kit for installations connecting to an existing monitoring system or local display. Includes the OQS sensor and Configuration Pack.
SENSE1 includes our OQS real time oil analysis sensor, and our CAB-J Configuration Cable and software which can be used to configure all Tan Delta sensors. This enables you to configure the sensor to the correct oil type and application and set the data output format that matches your target display.
OQS analyses oil in real time at a molecular level (0.001% accuracy), detecting, analysing and measuring changes caused by wear, contamination or mechanical issues with the equipment itself. This information enables you to significantly cut maintenance costs through using oil fully to the end of its life, undertaking maintenance when actually needed and reducing break downs.
Once you have configured the OQS to the target oil in your equipment, you can install and connect it to your desired display to see the oil analysis data. You can retain the Configuration Kit for future use and means that you only need buy the standalone OQS sensor in the future.

Oil Interpreting Guide
Tan Delta technology continuously analyses oil in real time at a molecular level, accurately tracking condition changes as equipment operation causes oil to wear. Rate of change projection enables reliable optimal maintenance forecasting and safe interval increases – thus reduced costs. Contamination or equipment issues cause trend spikes which are instantly detected, enabling immediate evaluation and action as necessary to avoid unnecessary break downs and life-shortening equipment wear.

I cannot see my specific oil in the Tan Delta oil database, how do I get this added?

I cannot see my oil in the database, so I have used an oil which I believe is close, but the sensor isn’t working?
The sensor will exhibit a different response for every oil. For best results, it is advised to obtain an Oil Profile which Tan Delta will add to our Oil Database. Please complete and submit an Oil Profile Request Form
How do I interpret the Sensor readings?
What is the estimated operational life of the sensor?

Does the sensor require annual calibration?
No, the sensor is manufactured with a fixed lifetime calibration.
Does the sensor require any consumables and/or replacement parts?
No, the sensor is a sealed unit with no moving and/or consumable parts.
Is there a maximum and/or minimum flow rate requirement for the sensor?
No, the sensor will operate regardless of flow, it is important that the oil is live, has some movement and is in contact with the sensor tip, so that the sensor is not reading a static sample.
What does Rate of Change (RoC) mean?
RoC is used to describe the percentage change in the oil condition value over a given time period. It represents the average speed at which the oil is wearing/degrading.
Where can I find the recommended Warning, Alarm and Rate of Change (RoC) limits for the Display Express or Tan Delta Online?
The Master User Guide supplied with your products contains all the necessary limits for several applications. If your application is not listed, please contact Tan Delta Support to discuss your requirements.
Will fitting Tan Delta equipment invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty?
No. In the US, this is covered by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (1975) and in the EU by EU Competition Law. Fitting Tan Delta equipment (or any 3rd party equipment) will not invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty simply because of such use, and is at the discretion of the end-user. Please contact Tan Delta if you require warranty excerpts/statements from primary equipment manufacturers.
