Tan Delta Systems plc (AIM: TAND) has announced via RNS the commencement of a paid Phase 2 trial with one of the world’s largest multinational online retailers.
Following a successful Phase 1 evaluation, the customer is now expanding deployment of Tan Delta’s real-time oil condition monitoring technology across additional distribution centres in both Europe and the United States.

Phase 1 saw Tan Delta sensors installed on five critical conveyor gearboxes within a major distribution hub. The objective was to demonstrate the system’s ability to detect and track changes in oil condition and gearbox health in a live operational environment.
With that capability proven, Phase 2 moves beyond technical validation and into broader operational testing. The programme will:
The Phase 2 trial is fully paid, with the first purchase order already received.
Large automated distribution centres depend on thousands of continuously operating gearboxes. Unexpected failures can disrupt throughput, impact delivery performance, and increase maintenance costs.
By continuously analysing oil condition in real time, Tan Delta’s sensors provide early insight into lubrication degradation and emerging mechanical issues. This enables maintenance to be planned based on actual equipment condition rather than fixed time intervals — reducing unnecessary servicing while lowering the risk of unplanned downtime.
For operators running complex, high-volume logistics networks, this represents a practical route towards more resilient and efficient maintenance strategies.
The customer involved operates tens of thousands of critical gearboxes across its estate. Phase 2 will assess the practicalities of broader deployment and system integration across this large-scale infrastructure.
The expansion from Phase 1 to a multi-region trial reflects growing confidence in the capability and relevance of Tan Delta’s technology within demanding, high-uptime environments.
